Our friends and partners some years ago introduced us to the idea of investing in a Waterway houseboat. We purchased a Mirage 54 the same year and have never regretted doing so. Our boat is well cared for and maintained. We have no worries about leaving our boat as part of the charter operation. We use our boat for two weeks each year and have received exceptional service whenever we have done so. Waterway is a company that prides itself on doing things right. They make promises and the keep them. The staff are a delight to work with and often will go the extra mile to ensure that a guest is properly looked after. I was not sure if it was a good investment, but the bank credit went through easily. I did not see our first boat for five years, but I did receive a cheque each year which met or exceeded the prospectus forecast. After the five years we went to see the boat and have not missed a season since, taking advantage of the off season owners discount structure. We now own four and one half boats (half in partnership with another owner) and enjoy the ability to rent to friends, as well as the annual cheques that have not missed the forecast amount yet.
