Waterway has been designing and building houseboats in central British Columbia since 1968. The company has been in the hands of the Vinje family since 1981. Although we’ve grown to employ 100 full time and seasonal staff, we’re still very much a family business. In addition to spending countless happy hours cruising on our boats, we’ve all done our fair share of fibre glassing, sanding and painting.
With this hands on approach we’ve launched five distinct classes since 1968, starting with the Queen and moving through the Royal (1969), Executive (1983), Voyager (1988) Mirage (1994) classes, and culminating in our brand new line of Genesis class boats. The very first boats we launched are still bringing people together.
We’ve learned a lot over the years and the insights we’ve gained from our own family and from the many families we’ve built for are incorporated into every boat we build. What does that mean? It means a lot.
Our new Genesis class literally incorporates everything we’ve learned in the last 30 years. They are the largest boats we have ever built and by far the most luxurious. In addition to elements that have now become Waterway standards, like full bathrooms and home quality kitchens, our new boats present curved lines for a more graceful look on the water.
When you choose to buy a Waterway houseboat, you’re buying the knowledge and skill that can only come from 30 years of doing one thing and doing it well. The commitment of our family to meeting the needs of your family is our guarantee of quality.
